"First Bath" at Home and More Visitors :)

Well since Aubrey is our second child we decided to document her 2nd bath at home...or perhaps it's because she screamed during her first bath at home, and we are 2nd time parents and therefore a bit slacking. She seemed to enjoy her 2nd bath much more!

Uncle Adam was up in Canada when Aubrey was born, but he stopped by last Sunday morning to see her on his way from Manson to Rochester. Then later in the afternoon Aunt Sarah stopped by to meet Aubrey on her way home from Rochester. Aubrey loves all of her visitors even though sometimes she doesn't show it  very well yet :)

Bath time!

Bright eyed for bath time...

An Evening at Grandma Teresa's... and Some Fun at Great Grandma Betty's.

With Great Aunt Kathy and Great Uncle Tim back in town for a few days, we all headed over to Grandma Teresa's to spend some time together. Uncle Jay bought a Stuffz (a contraption that helps you stuff burgers with whatever you want), so Tim, Teresa, and Jay stuffed burgers while the rest of us chatted and watched the kids play. The kids had fun in the little pool and on the swing set. We enjoyed our meal, and then the kids played some more. Caleb ended the night with a fun ride from Uncle JayJay in the pedal tractor and wagon :) Needless to say we were exhausted when we made it home.

Friday night we headed over to Great Grandma Betty's to spend some more time with family. Great Aunt Paula and Great Uncle Troy were back from Chicago, so we had a fun time catching up. Matt and Caleb worked in the garden for a little bit, Caleb got a couple of rides on the golf cart, we enjoyed a good meal with family, and then we headed back home.

Visitors at our house!

Aubrey and big brother Caleb have had many visitors over the last 2 weeks... Aunt Jessie, Uncle Dave, and cousins Jaxon and Makayla stopped over to meet Aubrey on Tuesday the 12th. (Caleb was wound up and rolling around on the floor). Then Linda and Aunt Hunter came up Wednesday the 13th to spend a few hours cuddling Aubrey. Later that evening Great Aunt Kathy and Great Uncle Tim arrived back in Northwood from Arizona, so we went over to Great Grandma Betty's to spend some time with them. Thursday the 14th Great Grandma Ruth, Grandma Marjean, and Lisa stopped by on their way up to visit cousin Nolan in Rochester. Caleb had a lot of fun playing with his visitors and spraying them with water. Luckily it was a warm day so everybody dried out rather quickly :)

The kids playing...Caleb was very excited to have visitors :)

SHE is here!!!

Well the wait is over! Our DAUGHTER was born last weekend. I started having contractions Friday night (the 8th) and by 2:30 am on Saturday I woke Matt up to tell him we needed to head to the hospital. Teresa came over to stay at the house with Caleb, and Matt and I headed to Mason City to the hospital. We arrived just after 3:00 am, and I was admitted and settled into the labor and delivery room by 3:30. My nurse looked at me and said this baby is going to be out soon!

I was hooked up to machines, and they asked if I wanted an epidural. I said yes I think I do, but an hour later it was too late to get one. Aubrey Jean Johnson made her debut on August 9th at 5:10 am weighing in at 8 pounds 2.8 ounces and 20 inches long. We became a happy family of 4! (Aubrey decided to join us just like her brother had...have mom go into labor at night so she and daddy wouldn't get any sleep :)

We had a group of visitors that first day in the hospital. Grandma Marjean arrived first (I think she left as soon as I told her I was in labor and heading to the hospital!) followed by Grandma Teresa, Great Grandma Betty, Aunt Jessie, and proud big brother Caleb. Caleb isn't a huge fan of hospitals, but he gave his new little sister a kiss on her forehead. It was so precious! Next Grandpa Dennis, Linda, and Uncle Houston stopped by to meet little miss Aubrey. Later in the afternoon Uncle Jay, Grandma Teresa, and big brother Caleb stopped by again. By the end of day we were exhausted and hoped for a good night's sleep, but Aubrey wasn't quite ready for bed.

By day two in the hospital we were still running on low sleep but high on adrenaline! We didn't have quite as many visitors and enjoyed the relative "quiet" with Aubrey. By Monday at noon we were heading out the door to pick up Caleb and head home as a family of 4!

She's HERE!
