4 Months Old!

We can't believe that Caleb is 4 months old already! He had his 4 month check up today, and he was 26 1/2 inches long and weighed 19 pounds! He showed off for his doctor and gave her lots of big smiles and didn't cry a bit during the examination. He handled his shots like a real trooper. (It helps that he has some nice healthy thighs!) As he got the first shot he flinched and gave a "what was that" kind of look to me, but on the second one he gave a squeal and some tears came out. He calmed down by the time we got home and got back to his usual self. He is such a happy little boy. We are excited to start trying some rice cereal with him this weekend, and for all of his little accomplishments to come in the following days, weeks, and months!

Love that little smile...

Big cheesy grin!

I'm this big!

Hmmm...what is that elephant doing on top of me.

Family Time

We have really savored our time with Caleb the last couple of weeks. We love our little family time! Matt will start taking EMT classes in the next week or two, so we are trying to get in as much family time as possible. Caleb watches us much more closely and follows us as we move around. He loves to take his pacifier out of his mouth, but he can't always make it back into his mouth again which makes him mad. Sometimes I'm afraid he's going to shove the whole pacifier in his mouth!

Such a sweet smile.

Mom's First Week at Work

Well I started my new job last week, so Caleb started going to his new baby-sitter Barb. She is wonderful! We're so glad we have her! I'm starting to adjust to going to work everyday and leaving Caleb at Barb's...and getting up early, getting ready, getting Caleb ready, and riding the bus! Caleb is adjusting well and continues to grow and make us smile. He decided to finally roll from his tummy to his back, so now we really have to keep our eye on him. I really appreciate the first three and a half months I got to spend at home with Caleb, and now the time at home with him and Matt is even more special!

Caleb loves to grab his pacifier out of his mouth now...but then sometimes he can't get it back in and he gets mad!

Watching some TV with us.

Exhausted...Caleb loves to snuggle his face under a blanket if he can find one.

A Week at Grandma Marjean's (Part 2)

Wednesday cousin Landon came over to play for the day. My friend Samantha Gleason came over with her kids Sophia and Teagen. We had fun catching up and the kids practiced helping out with a baby (Sammy is due in November with a baby boy!). Sophia and Teagen got a quick swim in before a thunderstorm rumbled through. It was so much fun to see them!

Thursday Uncle Adam and cousins Landon and Nolan came out to play. The Aljets family came out to visit in the morning. Uncle Adam stayed for awhile and then he and Nolan headed back to Manson for Nolan's nap. The boys had fun looking at each other, and Landon had fun looking at Caleb.

Nolan thought it was funny that Landon wouldn't stay still for the picture.

Friday Matt had returned from Canada and headed down to load up a trailer with all of my stuff from my mom's house. Then we headed home! It was fun to be back in the Manson area for the week, but Caleb and I are so glad to have Matt home safe and sound!

A Week at Grandma Marjean's (Part 1)

Well, Matt went to Canada fishing for a week with Dale and a group of other men, so Caleb and I headed back to Manson for a week. Before we left, Caleb and I spent a lot of time watching the Olympics and cheering on team USA! Caleb is also getting much stronger and enjoys sitting up in his Bumbo.

We didn't know when the trip was planned that our trip back would include moving Grandma Marjean's stuff out of her house in Manson so my cousin Leah and her family could move in, but it was well overdue. It was fun reminiscing going through all of my childhood toys and clothes. We did a lot of other things when we were home too...

Saturday we went and saw Nolan who had just gotten back from Rochester. He was full of smiles!! Sunday we went to Great Grandma Ruth's for Sunday dinner and enjoyed the nice weather outside. Then we headed over to Manson to Uncle Adam's and Aunt Sarah's for Nolan's welcome home party. It was a beautiful day, and we had a wonderful meal with some awesome smoked pork.

Nolan was still sleepy from his afternoon nap.

Monday Great Grandma Ruth stopped over for a quick visit and some snuggle time. Then Grandma Marjean, Caleb, and I went to Fort Dodge and did some clearance shopping. I got some new clothes for work, and we bought some clothes for Caleb for next summer.

Tuesday we spent the entire day in Manson packing and sorting through all of our stuff at the house. It was a warm and busy day, so by 7:00 pm Abbie, Ella, and I finally headed to Twin Lakes and went for a quick swim. (I guess Grandma Marjean has most of the pictures from those days.)
