Jaxon and Caleb

Last week we had cousin Jaxon over for an evening of fun. Caleb and Jaxon played together for awhile, we ate some supper, and then we headed up to the high school basketball game. Jaxon, Caleb, and I got to the high school about 6:00 and headed straight to the concession stand. The kids got popcorn and a beverage, and then we sat down in the stands. They enjoyed watching the girls warm-up for the game and the cheerleaders cheering and then the game got underway. The varsity girls won their game by 30 points, and then we stayed to watch the start of the boys' game. Jaxon had kept asking when the boys would play, so we couldn't leave before we saw them :) The boys kept asking me who everybody was and what his/her name was. One of the other exciting things about going to the game was discovering the bathroom. I think we visited the bathroom 5 times in about an hour :) Finally, just after 8:00 we headed out to Jaxon's house to drop him off, and then headed home to go to bed.

The kids had a blast, and it's too bad it's the end of basketball season. I guess they will have next year to look forward to! Maybe by that time Makayla and Aubrey will be ready to go too :)

Snow days!

Well the blizzards they predicted hit...and our family got to enjoy some extra time at home together! Even Winnebago cancelled work last Tuesday, so Matt got to spend the day at home. Caleb and Matt enjoyed digging a tunnel in the snow. Caleb convinced Matt and I to play Candyland against him numerous times...And the kids simply enjoyed looking out at the snow. It was a couple of wonderful cozy days at home!

Weekend back at Twin Lakes...

This past weekend we headed back to Twin Lakes and Manson to spend time with family and celebrate cousin Mabel's 1st birthday! We had a lot of fun Saturday celebrating with all the party guests. It's hard to believe the youngest in the family is already 1 :) She is such a spark plug and definitely has a mind of her own...quite similar to our Aubrey. I think those two might be trouble in a couple of years!

Saturday afternoon we spent some time outside. Matt tried some ice fishing and had a bit of luck. Grandma Marjean, Caleb, and I did a bit of exploring out on the ice and walked around the park for a bit. Caleb enjoyed the time outside, and then we played Candyland over and over and over :)

Sunday we woke up and headed to church. Grandma Marjean picked up Mabel for the day, so we got to enjoy some extra time with her at church. Our pew was quite full :) After church we stopped in Pocahontas at Pizza Ranch for lunch. The kids both ate very well. Caleb ate 3 pieces of pizza, chicken, and mashed potatoes! Then we headed on back to Northwood. It was a fun and relaxing weekend!
