Happy Halloween!

Caleb dressed as a puppy dog for his first Halloween! He loved to chew on his bone bow tie and his cute ears. We went over to Grandma Teresa's and met up with cousins Jaxon and Makayla. We got some cute pictures before Caleb started getting tired, so we decided not to push it and ended our trick or treating for the night. We will give it another shot next year!

Happy Halloween! Wearing his new bib from his baby-sitter Barb.

Daddy, what are these? I don't know but they are tasty!

Trick or treat?

Where is my candy?

6 Months Old!

Well we had a big week last week. Matt and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary on Tuesday, and as hard as it is to believe Caleb turned 6 months old on Friday. Where has all the time gone?

Caleb continues to develop his personality, and he is definitely still a happy baby. He is so ticklish, and he has started to babble more. Much to my delight, he especially likes to say "ma ma ma." (So hopefully he will say momma first!!) He has also started to blow a few bubbles, especially when he's eating baby food. He has tried many kinds of baby food including green beans, sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, squash, peaches, bananas, pears, and applesauce, and he is finally ok with his morning oatmeal (especially when mixed with a fruit!). He has just started trying to drink out of a transition sippy cup. I don't think he really likes it, but he does like to chew on it!

Caleb got to spend time with his mom's friend (and dad's cousin) Jeni Sinek this past end of the week. Jeni watched Caleb Thursday afternoon, and Friday (I didn't have school because it was conferences week) Caleb, Jeni, and I went to Mason City shopping. Caleb got to meet Jeni's boyfriend Zach who was in Northwood to visit. (He had been in South Korea with the army for the past year.) We had a lot of fun time with Matt's family, and we got a couple of cute pictures of Caleb and Makayla. Cousin Jaxon is so active it's hard to get a good picture of him...maybe next time!

Caleb really wanted to put Makayla's hand in his mouth! So cute!

He went to the doctor yesterday for his 6 month check up, and he was 29 and 1/2 inches long and weighed 22 pounds.  He wears 9-12 month clothes and sleepers and at times the 9 month clothes are too small. We look back at his newborn pictures and can't believe how much he has changed! We also think he's on the verge of crawling because every once in a while he does a little army crawl! We will see what the next month holds! I think baby proofing the house is necessary!

A nice big smile!

Yum, yum...my feet taste good!

A little clapping for a job well done!

A Visit from Grandpa Dennis

Grandpa Dennis came up for the day to visit us...ok mostly to see Caleb. Luckily Caleb took his naps at the right times and was awake for most of the time that Grandpa was visiting. Grandpa feed Caleb his bottle, played with him on the floor, and tickled him so he would giggle! All in all we had a wonderful day together, and Caleb was all tuckered out from all of the fun so now he's upstairs napping... Here's a few pictures from the day.

Hmmm.... yes I love to play with Grandpa!!

Playtime

Caleb plays more and more. He loves to roll around on his blanket and scoots a little bit too. It's amazing how far he can move without crawling! He also loves to chew on the tags on his toys, and he especially likes a small loop on the top of his toy hammer. Sometimes it makes us laugh when he notices his hands. He just giggles at them like he thinks they are going to come and tickle him. He also loves to grab his feet and pull them to his mouth, and he loves to pull his socks off!

Chewing on one of his favorite tags.

Happy boy.

What is that?

I love my feet!!!

Yummy!

Well Caleb has loved trying out new vegetables. I think his favorite has been the sweet potatoes! He has also enjoyed sweet peas and carrots, and he is beginning to like baby oatmeal. He had a runny nose and a little cough last week, but he seems to be getting over his cold or working on a tooth. Yesterday we tried out his first fruit...peaches. Judging by his face they were a bit tart for his liking...too bad I missed a picture of his puckered lips! He really leans in for his food now and gets a bit impatient if you take too long...

Yum, yum!!

Green beans?

Caleb has not been a fan of rice cereal or oatmeal, so we gave up on those and decided to try out vegetables. So we started with some green beans. He is still getting used to a spoon, but he has been eating the green beans much better than the cereal. Tomorrow we are going to try some sweet potatoes!!! Usually he just gets frustrated with the slow progress and demands his bottle! He has such a cute little temper! (That's how we feel now...I'm sure in a few months it won't be so cute!)

Green bean face!

Do you like my hair??

Threw a fit and got rewarded with his bottle...

Go Panthers!

Well Caleb didn't have any UNI gear, so while we were in Cedar Falls for my friend's wedding we stopped by the bookstore to pick up some gear. We got Caleb a couple of shirts, but they are both too big for now. We did get him a soft football which he has enjoyed!! Go Panthers!

Mmmm...tasty!
