Oh the sand at the beach!

Caleb loved the beach...here's some video of his experience in the sand...

And love of the ocean ;-)

California bound...

Caleb and mommy took a little trip out to California to celebrate mommy's friend Tierney getting married! We left for Des Moines on Wednesday the 21st and stayed in a hotel with our trip mates Grandma Marjean, Grandpa Dale, and Aunt Anndee. Thursday morning we were up at 4:30 to get to the airport in time for our 6:20 am flight to Denver. We had a very quick layover and made our connecting flight to John Wayne Airport in Orange County California and arrived a little early at 9:05 am (Pacific time). Caleb did really well on the plane and fell asleep each time on the take-off.

Having a snack in the Denver airport with Grandpa Dale.

Ready for take-off!
We picked up our baggage, located our rental car, and experienced LA traffic for the first time (luckily it was at the end of rush hour and Anndee is a great driver!) We made our way to our beautiful hotel and checked in to the Sheraton at Garden Grove.  Next we had lunch at Joe's Crab Shack where Caleb really enjoyed the fried walleye. We decided to spend the rest of the day on the beach, so we loaded up in the rental car and headed over to Huntington Beach. We spent a few hours enjoying the sand... Caleb loved the ocean and kept trying to run into it. We continued our way up the coast on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and stopped in Long Beach for supper at a cute little Italian restaurant called La Strada. I loved my chicken fettuccine au gratin, and Caleb loved his ravioli (as you can tell from his face in the photo below)! Then we headed back to the hotel to settle in for the night after a very long and exciting day. Caleb decided he didn't like the crib provided for him, so he ended up sleeping in bed with mommy! Day one completed successfully!!

Looking like a true California surfer boy...

Enjoying the ocean breeze!

Grandpa Dale got "in trouble" for getting Caleb a little too wet in the ocean :-)

Sand on the bottom...and in the diaper :-)

Laughter!

Caleb thought his daddy was hilarious the other night... I'm not sure what was so funny, but Caleb loved it when Matt bounced the ball against the ceiling...

A Visit from Anndee!!

Mommy's friend/step-sister Anndee came to Northwood for a visit at the end of July, and we had so much fun together! We can't wait to spend more time together when we go to California at the end of the month for a wedding!!!

Bonding on the couch and watching the Wheels on the Bus.
Getting tickled by Anndee... He LOVES Anndee!

Caleb loves remotes!

Fun with the Reyerson cousins!

Yet again I am slow to update the blog...

Back in July we went out on a Saturday evening to spend time with Great Grandma Betty, Grandma Teresa, Uncle Jay, Uncle Dave, Aunt Jessie, and cousins Jaxon and Makayla at the Reyerson's farm. The kids love to play together. Jaxon liked giving Caleb a ride in his tractor and wagon, and Caleb loved the ride. Then he got to try out driving...with a little help! Later we went inside, enjoyed some burgers, and watched the kids play together some more!

So many rocks to play with... we spent much of the night trying to keep these two from putting rocks in their mouths!

He loved playing with new toys! Especially all of the outside toys!

Running through the sprinkler!

Jaxon enjoyed squirting Matt...and the rest of us with his water gun.

Caleb loved the tractor ride from Jaxon! He's a great driver!

Then Caleb gave driving a shot...he did not like it when he had to stop.

Makayla loved trying on everybody's shoes!

Fun with Grandma!

Yeah... Everybody clap their hands!
