8 Months Old!

The day after Christmas Caleb turned 8 months old... Every month that passes, I can't believe how "old" our little baby is getting. He is such a little ham! He makes more facial expressions, and one of his new favorites is his "cheesy" smile. I think he realizes we are taking his picture because he scrunches up his face for the camera flash.

He loves to eat (most) of his baby food, and he loves to be able to feed himself. He still really likes baby puffs, but he makes a sour face every time we try to give him yogurt bites. So funny!!!! He is such a curious little mover now too. We have tried to corral him into the living room, but he tries his hardest to escape. It has also become more difficult to take pictures of him on his blanket with Andy the elephant. He has done a much better job at sitting up, although sometimes he gets excited and starts to try to crawl, topples over and bonks his head... We love our little guy more every day!!! We can't wait to spend 2013 watching him grow and learn more!

8 months...can it be true?

What a silly goose!

Not following mommy's instructions... my little escapee.

So excited to sit up!

Christmas Day!!!

Matt, Caleb, and I enjoyed our first Christmas as a family of three at home for the morning and then spent the afternoon at Grandma Teresa's. Matt and I tried not to go to crazy with gifts for Caleb this year...but Santa did stop by our house and leave gifts for each of us. We had a great morning and a wonderful afternoon.

Grandma Betty and Teresa made chili and cinnamon rolls for our Christmas dinner, and it was delicious!! We remember how blessed we truly are, and we are so thankful for all that we have including our precious Caleb.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was celebrated at Grandma Marjean and Grandpa Dale's house with Uncle Adam, Aunt Sarah, and cousins Nolan and Landon. None of Dale's family could be there this year. (I guess they were busy with both sets of twins!! I hope that means Matt and I dodged the twin gene! :-) We hope next year we will all be able to celebrate together! Can you imagine 10 kids 5 years old or younger!! We were happy we got to see Anndee and Billy at Great Grandma Ruth's on the 23rd though...

Grandma Marjean and Grandpa Dale prepared a wonderful meal of beef tenderloin, mashed potatoes, rolls, salads and more. We spread out the opening of presents a bit. We opened a few in the morning and then the "big" one in the afternoon after the boys had their naps. Caleb got a Little People Zoo set from Grandma Marjean and Grandpa Dale (and so did cousin Landon). It is really cool! Cousin Nolan got a really cool train set. We had a wonderful day, and the adults even enjoyed a game of Rook while the kids were napping. Around 5:00 we headed back to Northwood, so we could spend our first Christmas with Caleb at home. What a wonderful first Christmas Eve for Caleb!

Christmases with Mommy's family...

Sunday morning the 23rd we headed back to Pomeroy to celebrate some more Christmases... We went to church with most of the family then headed to Great Grandma Ruth's for a wonderful Sunday dinner. Caleb and cousin Nolan slept through everyone else opening presents, but once they woke up they had their own present opening party. Caleb was so spoiled by everyone! He had such a fun day playing with family and enjoying his new toys.

Cousin Landon and Caleb got matching shirts to wear for Christmas!

Giving a kiss... too cute!

Happy to be celebrating another Christmas!

Sunday night we headed over to Great Grandpa Ron's house to see most of the Ramthun's. We missed the actual "get together" on Saturday night, but luckily we got to see most of the family. We greeted Great Uncle Dan's family as we arrived and they left for another Christmas. We spent the next couple of hours with Great Uncle Dave's family, Great Aunt Denise's family, Grandpa Dennis' family, and Great Grandpa Ron.

Christmas at Grandma Teresa's

Caleb celebrated his first round of Christmas at Grandma Teresa's last Tuesday night. Great Grandma Betty, Uncle Jay, Aunt Jessie, Uncle Dave, and cousins Makayla and Jaxon were all there. The kids did so well, and everybody was awake and happy while we ate and opened all of the presents. We were all so spoiled by Grandma Teresa! We also had a wonderful meal of appetizers. My favorite kind of a meal! Caleb got wonderful presents from Grandma Teresa, his Uncle Jay and the Reyerson family. He had a wonderful first Christmas experience!!

Saturday the 22nd, we celebrated another Christmas at Grandma Teresa's with more family. Great Aunt Paula and Great Uncle Troy were there with their kids Sammi and Tyler. Great Uncle Jim and his girlfriend Mel were there too, and of course Great Grandma Betty, Uncle Jay, Aunt Jessie, Uncle Dave, and cousins Jaxon and Makayla were there too. We enjoyed a wonderful meal of ham, meatballs, potatoes, rolls, salads, and much more! The adults enjoyed exchanging grab gifts, and a lot of "stealing" occurred amongst the men and women as each gift was opened. Daddy stole a set of Maglites from Great Uncle Troy, and luckily mommy's gift of a bejeweled mirror was not stolen so she got to keep it!!

We had a wonderful visit from Santa... Makayla and Caleb enjoyed Santa's visit, but Jaxon never warmed up to him. Maybe next year... I guess Teresa has all of the pictures of the kids with Santa, sorry.
A family photo before heading over to Grandma Teresa's.

Caleb and Makayla love to check each other out!
