Aubrey's First Birthday Party!

We took Saturday to celebrate Aubrey's birthday with family. People started arriving around 10:30 and by 11:30 we were ready to eat. Matt grilled a tasty pork loin that we cut up to eat in sandwiches. We also had fruit, cowboy beans, chips, and veggies with dip.

After lunch the kids enjoyed playing in the 2 little kiddie pools outside. After they got dried off we sang Happy Birthday to Aubrey and watched her mostly poke at her cupcake. She kept trying to get Caleb and her cousins to try the frosting :) After getting Aubrey cleaned up we brought the presents outside and watched her attempt to open her presents (with help from Caleb).

After opening all of her wonderful presents, Aubrey needed to cool off so she played in the pool for a little bit. Her cousins and brother joined her for more fun too. By that time it was around 3:00, and Aubrey was getting sleepy. She said good-bye to everyone and headed on up for a nap. Everyone else eventually said their good-byes too and headed home.

We are so thankful for all of the love and support our family and friends have shown Aubrey in her first year of life! We feel very lucky to have such wonderful family and friends! Thank you for sharing the love!

Happy 1st Birthday Aubrey!

Our little girl turned ONE on Sunday the 9th! It makes me a little sad, but also very excited to see how she continues to grow and learn. Aubrey weighs approximately 24 pounds and stands 30 1/2 inches. She has 6 teeth (but is working on 7 & 8). Matt has given her the nickname "Shorty" :) Currently her favorite foods are cheerios, bananas, watermelon, toast, peanut butter, and crackers. She can say mama, dada, hi, and more. Her favorite toy is whatever Caleb is playing with :-) She can wave bye-bye, blow and give kisses, clap her hands, walk with help, climb up and down steps, give high fives, and "talk" on the phone. She loves playing outside, dancing, playing peek-a-boo, taking baths and splashing, going on walks, exploring everywhere, being tickled, her family, and following big brother Caleb around.

She just didn't want to leave her sticker alone.

 After opening her presents, we headed up to Albert Lea for the Freeborn county fair. I thought I took some pictures on my phone, but unfortunately I guess I didn't. Although it took Caleb a while to get excited about it, eventually he liked it. He (and Matt and I) especially enjoyed walking through the different campers.
